Impulse MT5 Download — Six-Strategy Gold Momentum Grid
Impulse MT5 is a MetaTrader 5 gold EA for XAUUSD: six momentum strategies feeding a shared Recovery Grid by default, with an optional Single Position mode. In independent 90-day XAUUSD tests against other gold EAs it averaged positive on 6 of 14 boards, led wins twice, and had one zero-balance washout.
What is Impulse MT5?
It is built for XAUUSD only. The listing describes a momentum grid: six entry strategies hunt setups, then a shared Recovery Grid manages the basket by default (flat-lot additions, virtual basket take profit). Version 2 also adds Single Position mode with classic stop loss and take profit, plus Standard / Conservative entry modes.
To see how it held up next to other gold EAs, we ran it through 14 FX EA Tester gold tests with the same rules for every EA — the results are on this page.
- 6 momentum strategies
- 2 modes: Recovery Grid or Single Position
- $1,000 minimum deposit on the listing
- 6/14 gold boards with plus average
How Impulse MT5 trades
Single Position mode instead opens one trade with broker-side SL/TP. Entry mode can be Standard or Conservative. Protections named on the listing include margin and drawdown monitors, news pause, spread filter, Friday filter, optional grid depth cap, and an optional parallel-grid mode for advanced users.
Default behaviour is grid recovery — treat drawdown risk as real until you switch modes and watch it on demo.
What you can set
You can also toggle strategies, grid depth, spacing expansion, directional filter, drawdown response mode, Friday / hour blocks, and the dashboard.
Use a hedging account, from $1,000 at 0.01 ($2,000 recommended for grid), leverage about 1:100–1:500, ECN/RAW spreads, and a VPS for 24/5.

A good fit if you
- want a multi-strategy gold grid with optional Single Position mode
- like flat-lot grid additions and virtual basket take profit
- can meet a $1,000–$2,000 deposit and accept grid drawdown risk
- want an independent gold check before paying about $499
Not a fit if you need
- an EA that stayed plus on most boards — only 6 of 14 averaged positive
- no survival risk — one MT4-board path hit a zero-balance washout
- MT4 — this product is MT5 only
- live signal / developer comparison posts treated as proof on this page
Key risks and how to reduce them
What can go wrong
- Default Recovery Grid can deepen drawdowns when gold runs against the basket.
- Virtual basket TP means individual positions may not have classic SL/TP in grid mode.
- Parallel grid mode (off by default) can stack exposure across strategies.
- Price and live signals change — check the Market page before you buy.
Safer first steps
- Demo for several weeks before any live use.
- Try Single Position first if you want fixed SL/TP without grid recovery.
- Keep margin and drawdown protections on; start at listing lot guidance.
- Set your own daily and overall loss limits before going live.
What to know before you download
- Confirm MT5, hedging, $499 live price, and $1,000+ deposit.
- Decide Recovery Grid vs Single Position before you size up.
- Add the news filter URL to WebRequest if you want full coverage.
- These gold boards were mixed with one washout — read them before you buy.

- Wins: first twice (0.5% risk, $5000); never the best average on a board
- Survival: one zero-balance washout on the MT4 peer board (worst path −$1,000)
- Usual drawdown about 9.9–13.4%; worst paths about 27–100% on $1000
Did it make money on average?
Mixed — made money on average in 6 of 14 tests
We ran 14 separate gold tests (different peer mixes and account settings). Each line below is one test’s average dollar result — not wins.
One more catch: wins ≠ profit
On the Impulse MT5 vs gold trend peers test it finished first most often — and still lost money on average.
Compare: CRT Model 1 had fewer firsts (12) but a milder average ($11.36).

• Wins: first on 0.5% risk and $5000. Also #2 on mixed, trend and hybrid boards.
• Averages: never the best on a board. Negative on MT4, scalpers, trend, scalper-field, grid-stress, high-risk, $300 and 180-day.
• Drawdown / survival: average max drawdown about 9.9–13.4%. Worst paths about 27–100% on $1000 (one washout on MT4), 35.57% on $300 and 36.11% on $5000. 41–61 of 100 paths ended in profit.
• Bottom line: occasional strong win ranks, but uneven averages and one full washout — treat grid risk carefully.

How the tests work
Gold (XAUUSD) boards only. Impulse MT5 ran with nine other EAs per board, on the same deposit, lot and risk settings and the same 100 paths over 90 days (180 days on the longer-window board). Across the 14 tests it met 71 other gold EAs.
Conditions covered: mixed popular, MT4, MT5, scalper, trend, AI, hybrid and grid fields, plus 0.5% and 2% risk, $300 and $5000 accounts, and a 180-day window.
- Symbol: XAUUSD
- Paths per test: 100
- Typical window: 90 days · deposit 1000 · lot 0.01 · risk 1%
- Market mix: random (uptrend, downtrend, range, chop, and shock paths)
- Engine: Hosted FX EA Tester (same rules for every EA in a test)
- Coverage: 14 tests · 71 other EAs · 100 paths each
For this EA, averages swing from clear losses to modest gains, and wins can finish high while average profit stays mid-pack. One washout on the MT4 board is the hard survival note.
Paths in profit (41–61 of 100) and worst drawdown show how far a single path could go. Path-type notes are FX EA Tester labels.

Strong points
- First on wins at 0.5% risk and on the $5000 board
- Positive on 6 of 14 boards, including mixed and hybrid
- #2 on wins on mixed, trend and hybrid boards

Reasons it may fit you
- You still like the Recovery Grid / Single Position design after reading mixed gold tests
- You will demo Single Position or tight risk with hard loss limits
- You treat live signals as marketing, not proof
Reasons to be careful
- You need plus averages on most boards
- You cannot accept a washout risk in these tests
- You only trust live Myfxbook statements
Our take
In these 90-day gold tests results were uneven: plus averages on 6 of 14 boards and two first-place wins finishes, but never the best average, weaker 180-day and scalper mixes, and one zero-balance washout on the MT4 peer board.
Our take: Cautious — survival risk showed up in these tests. The product design is clear; the gold tests do not support treating it as a safe peer-leading buy. Demo only with hard limits, and compare the EAs below. Downloads stay on MetaTrader Market.

FAQ
Where do I download Impulse MT5?
The Download link on this page goes to the official MetaTrader 5 product. There is no MT4 edition. Demo first before any live use.
Is this the same as Smart Gold Impulse or other Impulse EAs?
No. Several Market products use “Impulse” in the name. This page covers only Impulse MT5 by Simon Reeves / Starpoint Trading (product 179349).
How much does it cost?
On 7 Oct 2026 the Market price was $499. An earlier catalog figure was $349, so check the download page.
Does it use a grid or martingale?
Recovery Grid is the default: flat-lot grid additions into a shared basket with virtual take profit. The listing says there is no martingale. You can switch to Single Position with classic SL/TP instead. Confirm trade count on your own demo.
What does it need to run?
MetaTrader 5, XAUUSD on a hedging account, from about $1,000 at 0.01 ($2,000 recommended for grid), leverage about 1:100–1:500, and preferably an ECN/RAW broker. Add the news filter URL to WebRequest for full coverage.
How did it do in the gold tests?
Mixed to cautious. It averaged positive on 6 of 14 boards, led wins twice, never had the best average, and had one zero-balance washout on the MT4 peer board.
Where did it do best?
At 0.5% risk it was #1 on wins (21/100) with +$29.46. On the $5000 account it was also #1 on wins (20/100) with +$41.47.
How deep was the drawdown?
Average max drawdown stayed between about 9.9% and 13.4%. Worst paths reached about 27–100% on $1000 boards (including one washout), 35.57% on $300 and 36.11% on $5000.
Is it worth $499?
The product has clear modes and tools, but these gold boards were uneven and showed a washout. Compare Scalping Robot Pro and TwisterPro first, and only demo if you still want the grid design with hard loss limits.
Did it face 100 gold EAs at once?
No. 14 gold boards, 71 unique other EAs, 10 per board.
Are these live trading results?
No. These are FX EA Tester gold boards, not live trading results. Marketplace reviews and live signals are not checked here.
What to do next
1) Note the main finding: plus on 6 of 14 boards; one washout on MT4.
2) Compare Scalping Robot Pro MT5 and TwisterPro Scalper below.
3) ZIP downloads are optional rank files.
4) If you still try it, demo Single Position or tight risk with hard loss limits first.
