What is Wave Rider EA MT5?

Wave Rider EA MT5 is by Adam Hrncir (Czech Republic). It was first published in February 2026 and is on version 5.71. It is not the same product as “Gold waves rider,” a different Market EA with a similar name.

It is built for XAUUSD on MetaTrader 5. The listing describes a hybrid scalper: an H1 trend filter plus M5/M15/M30 confirmation, seven entry strategies, and two trade modes — Recovery (Grid) by default (four recovery personalities) or Single Position with stop loss, take profit and trailing. News blocks, drawdown / ATH exits and a visual dashboard are part of the package.

To see how it held up next to other gold EAs, we ran it through 14 FX EA Tester gold tests with the same rules for every EA — the results are on this page.
  • 7 entry strategies
  • 2 modes: Recovery Grid or Single Position
  • $300 minimum deposit on the listing
  • 1/14 gold boards with plus average

How Wave Rider EA MT5 trades

Attach the EA on gold (XAUUSD). The listing says chart timeframe is flexible because the EA uses multi-timeframe checks: H1 trend plus lower-timeframe confirmation before a trade opens. Most trades are described as short holds (often under 30 minutes).

Recovery (Grid) is the default mode, with four matched recovery personalities (Wide Slow / Fast, Static, Hybrid). Single Position mode uses fixed stop loss and take profit with trailing instead. Entry profiles (Cautious / Balanced / Aggressive) sit next to lot sizing. Protections named on the listing include daily drawdown, ATH exit, dynamic exit, news filters and USD bank-holiday blocks.

Default behaviour includes grid recovery — treat that as higher risk until you switch modes and watch it on demo.

What you can set

The short path: attach on XAUUSD, leave Recovery (Grid) or switch to Single Position, pick Cautious / Balanced / Aggressive, and start with the listing’s small deposit guidance ($300 min; $800+ recommended for grid).

You can also tune recovery personality, trailing, news windows, strategy slots (S01–S07; Impulse may ship off), and account protection inputs. The listing markets pre-optimized defaults and a NextGen dashboard.

Use a hedging account, ECN/RAW-style gold spreads, and leverage the seller allows (about 1:100 min, 1:500 recommended).

Broker presets

  • Attach on XAUUSD — MT5, hedging account
  • Choose Recovery (Grid) or Single Position
  • Entry profile: Cautious / Balanced / Aggressive
  • From $300; $800+ recommended for grid recovery
  • News filter and drawdown protections on for first demos

Requirements

  • MetaTrader 5
  • Hedging account on XAUUSD
  • From $300 deposit ($800+ recommended if you keep Recovery Grid)
  • Leverage about 1:100 minimum (1:500 recommended on the listing)
  • Low-spread gold broker; demo first before live

A good fit if you

  • want a gold EA with Recovery Grid or Single Position modes
  • like multiple strategy slots and news / drawdown protections
  • can meet $300–$800+ and accept a paid MT5 product
  • want an independent gold check before paying ~$399

Not a fit if you need

  • an EA that led these gold boards — it finished last on wins every time
  • positive averages on most boards — only one of 14 averaged plus
  • MT4 — this product is MT5 only
  • live signal / “98% win rate” claims treated as proof on this page

Key risks and how to reduce them

What can go wrong

  • Default Recovery (Grid) can stack orders and deepen drawdowns in chop.
  • Seven strategies plus Aggressive profile can raise trade frequency and risk.
  • Promo price ($399) may move toward the $499 list — check before you buy.
  • Marketplace signals and win-rate claims are not verified here.

Safer first steps

  • Demo on your broker for several weeks before any live use.
  • Try Single Position first if you want fixed SL/TP without grid recovery.
  • Keep news blocks and drawdown exits on for early tests.
  • Set your own daily and overall loss limits before going live.

What to know before you download

  • Confirm MT5, hedging, and the live $399 / $499 price.
  • Decide Recovery (Grid) vs Single Position before you size up.
  • Start Cautious with protections on; raise risk only after demos.
  • These gold boards were weak — read them before you buy.

  • You will demo Single Position first with tight loss limits

Reasons to be careful

  • You want an EA that finished near the top of these gold boards
  • You need plus averages on most peer mixes
  • You only trust live Myfxbook statements

Our take

Wave Rider EA MT5 is an MT5 hybrid gold scalper with seven strategies and a choice of Recovery (Grid) or Single Position modes.

In these 90-day gold tests results were weak: last on wins on every board, and a positive average on only the $5000 account. On $1000 boards averages stayed negative, with deeper losses at 2% risk and over 180 days.

Our take: Cautious — weaker results in these tests. The product design is clear; the gold tests do not support paying for peer-leading performance. Demo only if you still want the mode choice, and compare the EAs below. Downloads stay on MetaTrader Market.

FAQ

Where do I download Wave Rider EA MT5?

The Download link on this page goes to the official MetaTrader 5 product. There is no MT4 edition. Demo first before any live use.

Is this the same as Gold waves rider?

No. “Gold waves rider” is a different Market product. This page covers only Wave Rider EA MT5 by Adam Hrncir (product 165897).

How much does it cost?

On 7 Oct 2026 the Market promo price was $399 instead of the $499 list price. Check the download page for the live figure.

Does it use a grid?

Yes by default. The listing’s Recovery (Grid) mode is the default, with four recovery personalities. You can switch to Single Position with stop loss and take profit instead. Confirm trade count on your own demo.

What does it need to run?

MetaTrader 5, a hedging account on XAUUSD, from about $300 ($800+ recommended for grid), and leverage the listing allows. Keep news and drawdown protections on for first demos.

How did it do in the gold tests?

Weak. It finished last on wins on all 14 boards and averaged positive on only one board (the $5000 account, +$16.73). On $1000 boards averages stayed negative.

Where did it do least poorly?

On the $5000 account it averaged +$16.73 (still #10 on wins). Among $1000 boards the AI field (−$8.61) and 0.5% risk (−$10.19) were the least negative.

How deep was the drawdown?

Average max drawdown stayed between about 6.6% and 15.1%. Worst paths reached about 19–40% on $1000 boards, 52.65% on $300 and 18.26% on $5000.

Is it worth $399?

The product has clear modes and tools, but these gold boards were weak across peer mixes. Compare Scalping Robot Pro and The Gold Reaper first, and only demo if you still like the Recovery / Single Position design.

Did it face 100 gold EAs at once?

No. 14 gold boards, 71 unique other EAs, 10 per board.

Are these live trading results?

No. These are FX EA Tester gold boards, not live trading results. Marketplace reviews, live signals and win-rate claims are not checked here.
