MT5 gold trend pullback EA · independent tests
Boring Gold EA Download — MT5 Gold Trend RSI Pullback EA
Boring Gold EA is a MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor for gold (XAUUSD): trend + RSI pullback entries on M5, ATR-based stops, and an optional machine-learning filter — grid and recovery modes are off by default. Independent 90-day XAUUSD tests against other gold EAs across different market conditions were plus on average in 13 of 14 boards, but the averages were small and it never led on wins.
What is Boring Gold EA?
By default it uses a hard stop loss on every trade and no grid or martingale. A recovery suite is included but off by default. The listing recommends M5, about $200 for the standard mode ($2000+ for grid modes), low spread, and a hedging account. Demo carefully before you raise size.
Independent FX EA Tester gold boards on this page used the same money rules across different market conditions — results are below.
- MT5 platform
- M5 trend + RSI pullback
- $399 list price (25 Sep 2026)
- 13/14 gold boards with plus average
How Boring Gold EA trades
Stops and targets move with volatility (ATR): wider in fast markets, tighter in quiet ones. The stop can be larger than the target, because the seller tuned it for a high win rate. An optional machine-learning filter (a Random Forest model on 12+ market factors) can skip setups it rates as weak. A recovery suite with recovery / martingale modes exists, but it is off by default.
What you can customize
Start in the standard mode with the recovery suite off and a small lot on demo. Change one setting at a time so you can see what hurt the account.
Starting setup
- Attach on XAUUSD M5 (product focus)
- Use the standard mode and keep the recovery suite off
- Set the daily loss guard and equity drawdown limit first
- Product notes ~$200 minimum for the standard mode ($2000+ for grid modes)

A good fit if you
- want a slow, selective MT5 gold trend-pullback EA
- like ATR-based stops and a daily loss guard
- can keep the recovery suite off and lots small at first
- accept small plus averages (most boards +$1 to +$25 on $1000 over 90 days)
- will stay on demo until you understand drawdown on your broker
Not a fit if you need
- proof of big gold profits — most plus averages here were small
- the seller’s 14-month manual record as a verified result
- a board leader — it never finished first on wins in these tests
- a safe recovery mode — the optional recovery / martingale tools add real risk
- a live Myfxbook / broker statement copied here as proof
Key risks and how to reduce them
What can go wrong
- A stop larger than the target means one loss can erase several wins.
- Turning on recovery / martingale modes raises blow-up risk quickly.
- Worst paths still fell about 18–34% on $1000 and 38% on $300 in these tests.
- A $399 price does not buy big averages — most plus averages here were under +$26 on $1000.
- Market conditions and broker paths change; demo first.
Safer first steps
- Demo on the same broker and VPS you plan to use later.
- Keep the recovery suite off and start with a small lot on XAUUSD M5.
- Set the daily loss guard and equity drawdown limit before any live use.
- Do not raise size after a loss.
- Read the gold boards below before you treat a low-frequency, “boring” style as low risk.
What to know before you download
- Confirm you need MT5 and use the Boring Gold EA download.
- List price was $399 on 25 Sep 2026 — check the live figure.
- Know the model: trend + RSI pullback, ATR exits, optional ML filter, M5.
- Independent 90-day gold tests were plus on average in 13 of 14 boards, with small averages.
- Demo first; automated trading can lose capital.
Independent gold tests

- Never first on wins — best finishes were #3 (hybrid peers, 2% risk, 180-day window)
- Only red board: the mixed popular board (−$3.26), where Scalping Robot Pro led
- Usual drawdown about 5.9–10.6%; worst paths about 18–34% on $1000
Did it make money on average?
Mixed — made money on average in 13 of 14 tests
We ran 14 separate gold tests (different peer mixes and account settings). Each line below is one test’s average dollar result — not wins.
One more catch: wins ≠ profit
On the Boring Gold EA vs mixed gold popular test it finished first most often — and still lost money on average.

Shorter bar = better win rank. First on wins can still lose money on average.
How the tests work
Only gold (XAUUSD) boards. Boring Gold EA plus nine others, same money settings, 100 paths, 90-day window (180 days on the longer-window board).
Fourteen gold conditions. Trend peers did not get a softer path set than scalpers or grid EAs.
- Symbol: XAUUSD
- Paths per test: 100
- Typical window: 90 days · deposit 1000 · lot 0.01 · risk 1%
- Market mix: random (uptrend, downtrend, range, chop, and shock paths)
- Engine: Hosted FX EA Tester (same rules for every EA in a test)
- Coverage: 14 tests · 74 other EAs · 100 paths each
For this EA, a plus average did not mean a strong rank — it was plus on most boards but usually mid-table on wins. Use average profit and paths in profit together.
Average DD vs worst DD is the risk split. Path-type notes are FX EA Tester regime labels.

Reasons it may fit you
- You want an honest check of a paid MT5 gold EA before you spend money or demo time
- You care about average profit, not only first-place finishes
- You accept gold risk and will try a demo before using real money
Reasons to be careful
- You want an EA that leads boards or makes large averages
- You read a plus average as proof of real profit
- You only trust live Myfxbook / broker results
Our take
It may fit better if you want a slow, selective MT5 trend-pullback EA with ATR stops, and you will keep the recovery suite off and demo for a while. It may fit less well if you want large averages or a board leader.
Our take: Mixed — strengths and weak spots both show. Downloads stay on MetaTrader Market.

FAQ
Is Boring Gold EA only for gold?
The product is designed for XAUUSD on M5. The listing says other symbols are still being tested. These independent tests are XAUUSD only.
Does it use grid or martingale?
Not by default. Every trade has a hard stop loss. A recovery suite with recovery / martingale modes is included for advanced users, but it is off unless you turn it on — and it adds real risk.
What does the ML filter do?
The listing says it is an optional Random Forest model that scores setups on 12+ market factors and skips weak ones. That is product design, not a live profit claim.
How did it do in the gold tests?
It averaged plus in 13 of 14 boards over 90 days, but the averages were small — mostly +$1 to +$25 on $1000. Its best was +$115.38 on the $5000 board (about +2.3%). The only red board was the mixed popular board (−$3.26). It never finished first on wins; its best finishes were #3.
Is Boring Gold EA worth $399?
A careful demo can make sense if you want a selective trend-pullback EA with ATR stops and you are happy with small, steady-looking averages. Be more careful if you want an EA that leads boards or makes large averages.
Which gold EAs looked better in tests?
Scalping Robot Pro led the mixed, MT4 and MT5 boards with averages above +$100. Adaptive Gold Scalper led the scalper field. Both have full research pages on this site.
What drawdown did it show?
Average max drawdown was about 5.9–10.6%. The worst path on a $1000 board fell about 18–34%, and 38.22% on the $300 board.
Did it face 100 gold EAs at once?
14 gold boards, 74 unique other EAs, 10 per board. Not 100 at once.
Do you have live results here?
No. These are FX EA Tester gold boards only — not live trading results.
