MT5 gold scalp + swing EA · independent tests
OrionXAU Download — MT5 Gold Scalp & Swing EA
OrionXAU is a MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor for gold (XAUUSD) and Nasdaq: a scalping mode and a swing mode, at most two trades a day, and built-in stop loss, take profit and trailing. Independent 90-day XAUUSD tests against other gold EAs across different market conditions were plus on average in 14 of 14 boards, though most plus averages were modest and it never led on wins.
What is OrionXAU?
The product combines a scalping mode (short intraday trades on small moves) and a swing mode (trend-following, fewer trades, many small losses and occasional large winners). A safety rule caps it at two trades a day, one per market, and skips the second trade if the first one loses. The listing recommends H1, a tight-spread broker, about $100 minimum, and one market per installation. Demo carefully before you raise size.
Independent FX EA Tester gold boards on this page used the same money rules across different market conditions — results are below. Nasdaq was not tested.
- MT5 platform
- Scalp + swing two modes
- $497 list price (28 Sep 2026)
- 14/14 gold boards with plus average
How OrionXAU trades
Every trade has a stop loss and take profit, with a trailing stop. Lot size adapts to account size. A daily cap allows at most two trades — one per market — and if the first trade of the day loses, it does not take a second.
What you can customize
Start on gold only with a small lot on demo. Change one setting at a time so you can see what hurt the account.
Starting setup
- Attach on XAUUSD H1 (these tests cover gold only)
- Run one market per installation, as the seller recommends

A good fit if you
- want a low-frequency MT5 gold EA with a daily trade cap
- are fine with many small losses and a few larger winners
- can start with small lots and demo for a while
- want an EA that averaged plus on all 14 gold boards here, mostly by modest amounts
- will stay on demo until you understand drawdown on your broker
Not a fit if you need
- large average profits — plus averages here were mostly +$20 to +$45 on $1000
- a board leader — it never finished first on wins in these tests
- tested Nasdaq results — only gold was tested here
- Orion Gold Scalper — OrionXAU is a different product from a different seller

Key risks and how to reduce them
What can go wrong
- Swing mode expects frequent small losses; losing streaks can last.
- Worst test paths reached about 17–34% drawdown on $1000 boards.
- The $300 board had a 57.83% worst path.
- Running gold and Nasdaq in one account adds exposure the gold tests do not cover.
- Market conditions and broker paths change; demo first.
Safer first steps
- Demo on the same broker and VPS you plan to use later.
- Run gold only at first, with a small lot on XAUUSD H1.
- Do not raise size after a loss.
- Set your own hard account-loss limit before any live use.
- Read the $300-board worst path below before you run a small account.
What to know before you download
- Confirm you need MT5 and use the OrionXAU download.
- List price was $497 on 28 Sep 2026 — check the live figure.
- Know the model: scalp + swing modes, max 2 trades a day, H1.
- Independent 90-day gold tests were plus on average in all 14 boards, mostly by modest amounts.
- Demo first; automated trading can lose capital.
Independent gold tests
- Coverage: 14 tests · 74 other gold EAs · 100 paths each · 90 days (one 180-day board)
- Headline result: plus average in 14 of 14 tests (+$22 to +$44 on $1000)
- Never first on wins — #2 on the trend board (best average there, +$40.51) and the 180-day window
- Last on wins on the 0.5% risk and $5000 boards, though both averaged plus
- Usual drawdown about 7.7–11.4%; worst paths about 17–34% on $1000, 57.83% on $300

Reasons it may fit you
- You want an honest check of a paid MT5 gold EA before you spend money or demo time
- You care about average profit, not only first-place finishes
- You accept gold risk and will try a demo before using real money
Reasons to be careful
- You need large average profits across many boards
- You plan to run a small account
- You only trust live Myfxbook / broker results
Our take
It may fit well if you want a low-frequency MT5 gold EA with a daily trade cap and you can accept many small losses between larger winners. It may fit less well if you want large average profits, or you plan to run a small account.
Our take: Mixed — strengths and weak spots both show. Downloads stay on MetaTrader Market.

FAQ
Is OrionXAU related to Orion Gold Scalper?
No. OrionXAU is a paid MT5 EA by Pierre Paul Amoussou on MetaTrader Market. Orion Gold Scalper is this site's own free MT4 EA. The names are similar, but they are different products.
Is OrionXAU only for gold?
No — the listing supports XAUUSD and US100 / Nasdaq, and the seller recommends one market per installation. These independent tests are XAUUSD only.
What are the two modes?
Scalping takes short intraday trades on small moves. Swing trading follows the trend with fewer trades — expect many small losses and a few larger winners. A cap allows at most two trades a day.
How did it do in the gold tests?
It averaged plus in all 14 boards over 90 days, mostly +$22 to +$44 on $1000, and +$85.57 on $5000. It never finished first on wins; its best were #2 on the trend board (with the best average there) and the 180-day window.
Is OrionXAU worth $497?
A careful demo can make sense if you want a low-frequency gold EA with a daily trade cap — it was plus on every board here. Weigh the modest averages, the price and the deep $300 worst path first.
Which gold EAs looked better in tests?
On OrionXAU’s boards, Scalping Robot Pro led the mixed, MT4 and MT5 boards (up to +$110.59), Adaptive Gold Scalper MT5 had the best average on the scalper field (+$90.37), and Gold Zilla AI led the 2% risk and 180-day boards.
What drawdown did it show?
Average max drawdown was about 7.7–11.4%. Worst paths were about 17–34% on $1000 boards (deepest on the MT5 field, 33.61%) and 57.83% on the $300 board.
Did it face 100 gold EAs at once?
14 gold boards, 74 unique other EAs, 10 per board. Not 100 at once.
Do you have live results here?
No. These are FX EA Tester gold boards only — not live trading results.
